Description
This "York" table was handcrafted in our workshop, inspired by a classic refectory table design.
The tabletop, roughly 5cm thick, is made from thin, sun-scorched reclaimed oak (sawn from the exterior of old beams) bonded to furniture board. The outer edges are crafted from solid beams. Since the oak spent decades as exterior cladding, naturally weathered by the sun, it has developed a stunning patina.
The tabletop has been treated against spots.
Dimensions: H 76, L 340, W 100cm
Reclaimed oak
This table is made from a special sustainable wood: reclaimed old oak.
For years, this wood served as cladding on farm barns in Central Europe. There, rain and sun have given it a beautiful natural patina.
By reusing old oak in a new table, this distinctive material gets a second life. That reduces the need for new timber and helps preserve nature while lowering our ecological footprint.
