Sunburned reclaimed oak Refectory table Munster – Z008

This Münster model refectory table was designed by us and is handcrafted in our own workshop from sun-burned old oak, 4.5 – 5 cm thick. Because the oak spent decades as cladding in the sun, it has acquired a beautiful patina.

The sun-weathered oak is structural timber. Where old joints once were, you'll find holes in the planks. We fill these gaps with wooden blocks made from the same sun-weathered oak. Take a look at the example photo in the images for a preview.

The tabletop has been treated against spots. Other wood colours or finishes are always open for discussion.

This table is made from a special sustainable wood: reclaimed old oak.

For years, this wood served as cladding on farm barns in Central Europe. There, rain and sun have given it a beautiful natural patina.

By reusing old oak in a new table, this distinctive material gets a second life. That reduces the need for new timber and helps preserve nature while lowering our ecological footprint.
